    We Believe...

THAT THE QUALITY OF INSTRUCTION MATTERS significantly to the players overall experience and development results. We recognize the importance of coaches who care, connect, and commit.

IN HONORING OUR COMMITMENT TO PARENTS who have entrusted their most precious gift to our care. We evaluate each athlete based on their skill level and find an appropriate fit on the team where they can be encouraged and developed to maximize their full potential.

IN TEACHING PROGRESSIVE ATHLETIC & BASKETBALL SKILL DEVELOPMENT that supports and enhances our athlete’s emotional intelligence by methods that have proven to strengthen their athleticism, improve their basketball skills, and sharpen their “mental side”.

IN CREATING AN ATMOSPHERE where our athletes are willing to take risks. We encourage our athletes to get out of their comfort zone, to innovate, and grow.

IN CELEBRATING OUR ATHLETES’ improvements and accomplishments by offering open, honest, and direct communication by process driven experts.

    Founders

    Coach Carlray Lee

Carlray Lee In 1984 Carlray Lee began as a football coach for South Phoenix Pop Warner. At that time Pop Warner was the sole program in the valley offering youth organized football. Being a dedicated coach he was eventually offered the position of President of South Phoenix Pop Warner, which he successfully ran from the years 1995 thru 1999. Carlray helped grow the program from 8 teams to 17 teams before he left the organization.

In 2007 Carlray established South Youth Sports under the name of South Mountain Youth Football. Carlray Lee is the founding member of the organization South Mountain Youth Football. The vision of the organization is to bring affordable athletic sports to the community of South Phoenix. The parents of the youth in South Phoenix had found it hard to pay for tackle football, basketball, and sports in general. Carlray Lee donated his time and money to help the youth. He was able to cut the cost of running the program making it affordable to the parents of South Phoenix. It too was a success over the 5 years it expanded. Originating with two teams and reaching 8 teams by 2010. Parents appreciated a price they could afford, volunteer coaches, appreciated the freedom given to coach without politics.

In Jr. High, he also made Basketball Congress International (BCI) first-team all American at Isaac Middle School where he won a state and national championship under Coach J.C. Hilton. Growing up the neighborhoods of South Phoenix, Martin learn to contest the environment and strive to be successful in life with the help of parents, coaches, and teachers.
